The Dorset Catering Company is part of Sausage & Pear. We’re Ross (Sausage) and Claire (Pear) Moore, and we're proud to call Bridport, Dorset our home. Our story began in 2010, and since then, we've established a thriving business that includes our award-winning restaurant, PLATFORM, which boasts 2 AA Rosettes, all right here in West Dorset.

Nestled on the stunning Jurassic coast, we are fortunate to collaborate with some of the finest food and drink suppliers that the West Country has to offer. Our commitment to quality means we carefully choose suppliers who prioritize sustainability and uphold strong ethical standards.

While Dorset is our base, we love to travel across Southern England and often venture as far as London, where we cater for launch parties, corporate events, and various private gatherings.

Where it all began..
Back in 2010, after moving to Dorset, Claire decided to put her baking talents to good use by launching a food stall at the renowned Bridport Market. It didn't take long for her to build a loyal customer base, and she was selling out every week.
​
Soon after, Ross joined Claire in this exciting venture, and together, they expanded the stall to include wholesale cakes and bakes for local pubs, restaurants, and tearooms, adding a delivery service to the mix. This partnership led to the creation of Moore Than Cupcakes, and the business flourished. In just a few months, they were supplying some of the biggest tourist attractions in the South West with an array of delicious cupcakes, cakes, scones, and other sweet treats.

As the business evolved, it naturally transitioned into catering. Initially named The Dorset Catering Company, they rebranded to Sausage & Pear in 2012, inspired by their childhood nicknames — a name they felt perfectly suited the charming nature of their catering services.
